LAWRENCEVILLE -- State Rep. Buzz Brockway and the city of Lawrenceville will host a Veterans Day event on Friday.
The event at the Lawrenceville Visitor Center will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., two days before the official holiday.
To honor armed service veterans for Veterans Day, the city of Lawrenceville invites all veterans to "A Day of Honor" at the city's visitors center on Friday, two days before the official holiday. Veterans from many different backgrounds and branches unite for an afternoon complete with an "all-American" lunch, live music performed by a "patriotic" band and a speech given by Brockway.
For those veterans who are struggling while looking for a job, the Georgia Department of Labor is offering a resume and employment workshop during the event.
The Disabled American Veterans will also be on site giving medical and benefit counseling for those in need.
Admission is free.
The visitors center is located at 233 E. Crogan St. in Lawrenceville.
