SNELLVILLE -- New artwork is on the walls in Snellville City Hall.
Mayor Kelly Kautz, who began a rotating art exhibit at the edifice earlier this year, announced that abstract artist Donna Biggee has been selected as the artist to be featured in November.
The original artwork will be on display in the community room at City Hall and can be viewed during normal business hours.
Selected by a group known as the Snellville Art Jurors, Biggee is a Georgia native who works in pastels, oils, acrylics and watercolors. Inspired by memories with family and friends in the South, Biggee's landscapes "capture the serenity of her roots and depict the vivid colors of the southern seasons," a press release said. Biggee's studio painting are based on plein air studies, and her work can be foun in private and corporate collections, the release added.
Artists and groups interested in having their work displayed at City Hall can contact the art jurors. Information about the selection, as well as an application, can be found on the city website, snellville.org.
