Norcross grad Adrian Hubbard, a linebacker at Alabama, was named the SEC's defensive player of the week on Monday.
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Quarterbacks Aaron Murray and Tyler Bray are co-Southeastern Conference offensive players of the week, while Norcross grad Adrian Hubbard, a linebacker at Alabama, earned the league's defensive honor.
Murray passed for 384 yards and four touchdowns to lead Georgia over Mississippi. Bray led Tennessee past Troy with 530 yards and five touchdowns.
Hubbard, who began his high school career at Peachtree Ridge, had a career-high 12 tackles and a sack in Alabama's win at LSU. He also was in on a fourth-quarter stop on a fourth-down play.
Vanderbilt kicker Carey Spear received special teams honors after making two field goals against Kentucky.
LSU's La'el Collins and Vandy's Wesley Johnson shared the offensive line award. Arkansas end Chris Smith and Florida tackle Sharrif Floyd are co-defensive players of the week while Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel claimed freshman honors.
