LILBURN -- After a sluggish first quarter, Parkview scored 38 unanswered points to retain the Green Flag for the 13th year in a row.

The Panthers (7-2 overall, 6-1 Region 8-AAAAAA) got 111 yards and two touchdowns on the ground from Justis Rosser.

"Rosser wants to win," Parkview head coach Cecil Flowe said. "He bleeds orange and gives it everything every game. We have to catch the flame that's burning under him."

Things didn't start great for the Panthers. On second down from their own 41-yard line, running back Chris Carson found a seam and went 24 yards. However, Berkmar's Rashad Hall came up from behind and stripped Carson of the ball, returning it back to the original line of scrimmage to put the Patriots in business.

And it only took Berkmar (1-8, 0-7) one play to get on the scoreboard as quarterback Jaquan Morris found Dorren Miller for 41 yards and the touchdown.

Parkview looked to answer as Keanu Mole returned the ensuing kickoff 60 yards to the 20-yard line. Four plays later, the drive stalled as a 35-yard field goal was missed.

The second quarter saw things start to go differently for the Panthers, however not before everyone in the stadium held their collective breath.

On a third-down play, Carson took the ball 16 yards for a first down, but he was upended by a Berkmar defender, causing an injury.

"We honestly don't know what it is," Flowe said. "It could be a bruise, it could be worse. We'll just have to wait and see."

On another third down on the same drive, quarterback Mac Marshall found Demonte Dawson open on the sideline as he took it 41 yards for the touchdown. Parkview then converted the two-point conversion when Marshall completed a pass to Brandon Sullivan.

Late in the second quarter, Parkview added on to its lead when Rosser broke three tackles on his way to the end zone from 15 yards out, giving the Panthers a 15-7 lead at halftime.

"We made some adjustments at halftime and they paid off," Flowe said.

Rosser scored for the second time in the game on the opening possession of the second half, this time from 14 yards out.

In fact, the Panthers would go on to score on their next two possessions -- the first on a 14-yard run by Richard Walker and the second on a 31-yard pass from Marshall to Mole. The second touchdown came one play after Berkmar fumbled a Parkview punt, giving the ball back to the Panthers.

"Defensively we played great," Flowe said. "We made good plays and got two picks on the night."

As a team, Parkview finished with 254 yards rushing and 103 yards passing.

Morris finished 9-for-23 for 108 yards for the Patriots.
