Greater Atlanta Christian wide receiver Peter Whiteneck won online voting this week as the Daily Post's Fans Choice Player of the Week.

The senior got 54 percent of the vote to win a competition with Duluth's Myles Campbell (20 percent), Berkmar's Jaquan Morris (17 percent) and South Gwinnett's Bernard Morrison (9 percent).

Each week during the football season, the Daily Post will nominate four players for its Fans Choice Player of the Week. Online voting at www.gwinnettprepsports.com will begin Monday mornings and will end Thursdays at noon. The winner will be featured online and in the Friday print edition.

Whiteneck earned the honor after catching three passes for 104 yards and two touchdowns in a win over Hapeville Charter last Friday.

"Peter is having a really good senior season and turned in another strong performance on Friday night," GAC head coach Tim Hardy said. "He made a number of difficult catches and big plays, including an 80-yard touchdown the helped us open up a lead early in the game. He is an explosive player with strong hands and excellent speed. He is respected by his teammates for his strong work ethic and commitment to becoming his best. Carrying a 3.97 GPA, he is a good example of a motivated student-athlete."
