NORCROSS -- With much success last year, the Gwinnett Village Community Alliance brings back the Gateway International Food and Music Festival on Saturday in Lillian Webb Park.
"We wanted to establish an annual event that adequately represents the rich diversity we see every day in our community," said Letycia Pastrana, executive director of the Gwinnett Village Community Alliance, the event organizer.
The day will feature local metro Atlanta performers representing cultures from around the globe through traditional music, song and dance.
Music and performances will add to the festival's environment, but the food will enhance the experience. There will be tasty bites from all over the world, ranging from South America to Asia and even food from close to home. (Hint: It's barbecue.)
For the young ones, there is a kids zone to play in throughout the day. For the holiday shoppers, there is an arts and crafts area with local vendors selling their wares for the season.
"We hope to provide people with a truly global experience that enriches their views of other cultures," Pastrana said.
Admission is free.
