BUFORD -- Five Below is not what you would expect to hear during the summer in Georgia, but it's coming.
The store, which carries only products that cost less than $5, will open in seven Atlanta area locations this weekend, including Buford. The store's grand opening will be on June 1 in the Marketplace at Millcreek at 1600 Mall of Georgia Blvd.
During the opening weekend, the first 300 customers will receive free Five Below T-shirts and one customer will receive a $100 Five Below shopping spree. Five-cent hotdogs and other giveaways will also be available.
Targeting pre-teens and teens, Five Below carries a variety of products across several retail categories, including nail polish, arts and crafts, fashion accessories, video games, toys, and fitness equipment.
The new stores are a part of the company's second major market expansion this year. In a press release, Tom Vellios, Co-Founder and CEO of Five Below said, "With these new stores we are expanding the geographic reach of our retail model to bring great value to more consumers across the U.S."
