POWDER SPRINGS — Ambulances were called to a high school graduation ceremony near Atlanta Friday to treat spectators for heat-related symptoms.
At least two people were taken to a hospital.
Cobb County school system officials say at least four others were treated at the scene of the graduation, in a football stadium at John McEachern High School in Powder Springs.
The school's website said the commencement was scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday at Cantrell Stadium.
Temperatures were in the mid-70s when ceremonies began at 10 a.m. and had climbed into the mid-80s by the time it ended.
