SNELLVILLE — Loganville musician Jordan Rager and former University of Georgia quarterback David Greene have signed on to participate next month in festivities to support the family of Aimee Copeland, the Snellville native recovering from a rare flesh-eating bacteria.

Rager, who recently appeared on NBC’s “The Voice,” is one of eight musicians scheduled to perform during benefit concerts on the Snellville Towne Green on June 15 and 16. Other acts include Banks and Shane, Wade Sapp, The Dam Band and Corey Durkin, a musician from New England who wrote a song for Copeland.

A performance schedule has not been released, but the event is slated to run from 5 to 10 p.m. on Friday, June 15, and 2 to 11 p.m. on Saturday, June 16.

Greene, a quarterback at South Gwinnett High School, UGA and in the NFL, has also agreed to participate on June 16 by signing autographs and playing flag football with kids.

Donations for the Copeland family will be accepted at several locations at the event, and can also be delivered to United Community Bank in Snellville.

The Chick-fil-A at 2932 Main St. in Snellville is also hosting a percentage night from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, with 10 percent of sales going toward Copeland’s medical expenses. The restaurant will also have live music and door prizes throughout the evening, including a chance to win free Chick-fil-A for six months.

“It’s amazing how the Snellville community has rallied around Aimee and her story,” franchise operator Colby Cameron said. “Aimee is such a strong young woman, and we hope everyone will come out in full force to support her and her family.”
