Lawrenceville mayor to host breakfast for World War II vets
Lawrenceville Mayor Judy Jordan Johnson is hosting a breakfast on Monday, Memorial Day morning, for any World War II veterans who would like to participate. The breakfast will start at 8:30 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of Lawrenceville, which is located one block from the Gwinnett Historic Courthouse.
Veterans can bring one friend or one member of their family to partake in the breakfast. Any World War II veterans who would like to attend are asked to call 678-407-6576 and leave their name and phone number.
Varela selected for Kennesaw State cheerleading squad
NORCROSS -- Jasmine Varela, a Meadowcreek High School grad who was co-captain of the school's cheerleading squad this past year as a senior, has been selected to be a member of the cheerleading squad at Kennesaw State University. Varela went through a two-day tryout to make the team.
