A team from the Duluth Rotary Club recently won the title at a clay shooting tournament fundraiser. The five-man Duluth team bested a field of 25 at the inaugural Don't Drink and Drive Sporting Clay Shoot at Barnsley Gardens in Adairsville.
Put on by Operation One Voice, the tournament raised $20,000 for the organization, which helps the families of fallen and wounded Special Operation Forces. The two-day event also included a team of Army Rangers who had just returned from Afghanistan. The Rangers team finished second in the competition despite not being able to practice while on duty.
The winning team was recognized at a recent Duluth Rotary Club breakfast meeting. The winners were: Woody Bell, Lt. Bill Stevens, Doug Bridgers, Laird Canby and Dave McCulley.
