LOS ANGELES — "American Idol" can count a marriage proposal as part of its 11-season history.
Former contestants Ace Young and Snellville's Diana DeGarmo became engaged on stage during Wednesday night's finale.
Young, 31, a season five finalist, told host Ryan Seacrest that he and DeGarmo, 24, had just moved in together. Then Young got down on one knee and popped the question to her.
"I love you to death. You're my best friend," Young said in his proposal, which included a jarring credit for the jeweler who made the engagement ring he was offering. DeGarmo, a runner-up in season three, tearfully accepted, her head bobbing up and down.

What, no picture of Ace Young? I never heard of him, congratulations Diana, I haven't talked to you in years but you still make all of us from the Snellville - Centerville area very proud! You have always been such a good role model for the kids.

I think they got the order wrong. First you get married, THEN you move in together. But what do we expect from the liberal media and communist Hollywood? They just shove more secular humanist garbage down our throats by praising these kids and their mixed up morals. Of course, all of this can be pinned directly on Obama.

My sentiments exactly, except that these mixed up morals began long before Ceasar Obamus. I mean, look at Clinton, Kennedy, J. Edgar Hoover, the Catholic church, our local school teachers, doctors, cops, professional atheletes, Snoop Dogg? OMG! These are all people that are supposed to be setting examples for the kids. Pretty disgusting, huh? The only thing left is the hope for decent parenting.

I'm not an "Idol" fan, but that was quite amazing. Ace Young gets mad props in my book for having the nerve to do that on an "Idol" finale. Good luck to the couple!
