Retired Chief Petty Officer Lester Cloyd Lichty, Sr., age 82, of Flowery Branch, GA formerly of Goose Creek, SC, passed away Thursday, May 10, 2012. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marlene Lichty. He is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Les and Connie Lichty, Flowery Branch, GA and Loren and Nancy Lichty, Chesapeake, VA; daughter and son-in-law, LeAnn and James Davis, Camby, IN; grandchildren; Craig Lichty, Jason Lichty, Loren Lichty, Jr., Marion Lichty, Marlene Lichty, Nicole Lichty, Megan Davis, James Davis, Shannon Davis and Faith Davis; great grandchildren, Parker Lichty, Quinlyn Lichty, Grant Steiner, Jacob Steiner, Calista Lichty, McKenzie Lichty, Micah Lichty and Aubrey Edwards. Mr. Lichty was born February 3, 1930 in Sylvania, OH and grew up in Toledo, OH and Erie, MI. He was retired CPO (E7) Naval Navigator of twenty-four years. He enjoyed woodworking, crafts and crossword puzzles. He was a member of St. Timothy Lutheran Church in Goose Creek, SC. Graveside Service will be held on Tuesday, June 19, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, GA.
