SUWANEE -- The Georgia Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals has scheduled a vaccination clinic for Saturday.

Those wishing to do so can come by 1175 Buford Highway, Suite 109, Suwanee, from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday.

Canine and feline rabies shots are $10; canine and feline distemper shots are $10; canine bordetella shots are $10; canine heartworm tests are $25; microchip, $25; combo test, $25; nail clipping, $10; deworming, $5.

Jackson EMC donates $90k in grants

LAWRENCEVILLE -- The Jackson EMC Foundation, a charity funded by the electric cooperative's members through their donations to the Operation Round Up program, has awarded grants totaling $90,000 to nine agencies serving Gwinnett County residents. The grants include the following:

-- $15,000 to Exodus Outreach

-- $15,000 to Project Adam

-- $12,000 to Hope Clinic

-- $10,500 to I Am Inc.

-- $10,000 to the Spectrum Autism Support Group

-- $10,000 to Extra Special People

-- $7,500 to NSPIRE Outreach

-- $5,000 to Families of Children Under Stress

-- $5,000 to Camp Kudzu

Since the Jackson EMC Foundation began in 2005, it has funded 633 grants to organizations and 231 grants to individuals, putting more than $6.5 million back into local communities.

Scholarship fundraiser planned

LAWRENCEVILLE -- "Dancing for Education," sponsored by the Robbie Susan Moore Foundation for Education Inc., will celebrate its third annual fundraiser at 4 p.m. Saturday at the Lawrenceville Boys and Girls Club, 382 Stone Mountain St., Lawrenceville.

The organization will award its first scholarships at the function.
