2 children critically injured in head-on collision

JOHNS CREEK — Eight people have been hospitalized, including two children with critical injuries, following a head-on collision in Johns Creek.

The collision occurred at around 1 p.m. Saturday near the border of Gwinnett and Forsyth counties.

Johns Creek spokeswoman Rosemary Taylor said a Honda was traveling westbound on McGinnis Ferry Road when it crossed a median and hit an oncoming SUV traveling eastbound.

Taylor said two children under the age of 10 were taken to Scottish Rite Hospital in critical condition. The injured adults were taken to Gwinnett Medical and North Fulton Medical hospitals. Their identities and conditions were not known Saturday evening.

The accident blocked traffic on McGinnis Ferry Road for several hours.
