ATLANTA (AP) -- Georgia collected 11 percent more in tax revenue in April than it did the same month a year ago.
Gov. Nathan Deal said Wednesday that overall collections were up $152 million in April over last year, totaling $1.5 billion. Net revenues for the fiscal year, which ends June 30, were $13.3 billion, a more than 5 percent increase over the same period last year.
Individual income tax collections totaled $804 million, up from $711 million in April 2011. That's a 13 percent increase.
Net sales and use tax collections were $482.5 million last month. That's a 5 percent increase over April 2011's $460.5 million.
