DORAVILLE -- A Norcross man is being held without bond for allegedly bludgeoning his girlfriend's new beau with a large tree branch.
Gwinnett police charged Adonis "Pee Wee" Miller, 57, in the Friday afternoon incident at a home in the 6000 block of Susan Lane in Doraville.
A neighbor called police about 12:15 p.m. to report two men fighting. A Gwinnett police officer arrived to find one of them, a 51-year-old Decatur resident, covered in blood, according to a police report.
The injured man told police he was at the home visiting his new girlfriend, a 54-year-old woman who lives there, when her ex-boyfriend, Miller, kicked in the back door. The man fled the home but was confronted by Miller in the driveway, as he tried to get into his truck, the report states.
The victim "stated that Pee Wee picked up a large branch and began striking him in the head with it," the officer wrote. "The paramedics stated he was definitely going to need stitches."
The woman the men were reportedly fighting for loudly defended Miller, saying the injured man had actually come over uninvited, the report states. But the neighbor who called police said she'd seen the injured man at the home almost every day for the last week or two.
The victim was transported to Gwinnett Medical Center in Lawrenceville for treatment.
Police secured warrants for Miller's arrest, and he was booked Saturday. He remained at the Gwinnett County Jail on Monday without bond.
