Plummer helps Mill Creek girls golfers to fifth at state

AUGUSTA -- Katie Plummer shot 75 and took sixth-place overall as the Mill Creek girls golf team finished fifth in the Class AAAAA tournament at West Lake Country Club.

Teammate Garnett Glaser shot 90 for the Hawks, whose total made them the top Gwinnett finisher in the tourney.

The Brookwood girls were close behind in a tie for seventh with a school-record score of 169. Both Taylor Allen (82) and Allison Gammie (87) had low rounds for the Broncos.

Peachtree Ridge placed 10th in AAAAA girls behind a season-best 81 from Jenny Li and a 95 from Annie Jin. Parkview was next among local teams in 11th place, counting scores from Bridget Sandy (90) and Leah Chandley (91).

It also was a good day for Duluth freshman Diane Lim. She shot 78, the second-best score among individual qualifiers in AAAAA, after closing with a 36 on the back nine.
