Mr. and Mrs. Peter F. Haugh of Weddington, N.C., announce the engagement of their daughter, Madeleine Haugh of Weddington, to Christopher Pethan of Duluth, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles A. Pethan of Duluth.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John J. Haugh and Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence W. Britt of Port Jefferson, N.Y. She is a graduate of the University of Georgia, where she received a bachelor's degree in communication sciences and disorders. She is attending the University of Iowa, where she is pursuing a graduate degree in speech language pathology. She is employed with Emory Voice Center as a speech language pathologist.
The future groom is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Jerry D. Turner of Duluth. He is a graduate of the University of Georgia, where he received a bachelor's degree in business administration. He is employed with G.E. Energy Information Technology Leadership Program as an associate.
The wedding is planned for June 23 at Myers Park Baptist Church in Charlotte, N.C.
