Buford junior Kaela Davis and Norcross junior Diamond DeShields have accepted invitations from USA Basketball for the upcoming Under-17 World Championship Team Trials, scheduled for May 17-20 at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs.
A total of 35 players will attend the camp in hopes of earning a spot on the under-17 team that will represent the U.S. at the FIBA Under-17 World Championships, slated for Aug. 17-26 in the Netherlands.
DeShields is the most decorated national team player in the pool with two gold medals to her credit -- the 2011 FIBA Under-19 World Championships and at the 2010 FIBA Americas Under-18 Championships. Davis played last season for the Under-16 National Team and won a gold medal.
