PEACHTREE CORNERS -- Gwinnett officials placed a moratorium on development in Peachtree Corners until the new city government cranks up.

Commissioners approved the move Tuesday, which means that all decisions on zoning and permits will go to the newly elected Peachtree Corners City Council when the city becomes official July 1.

According to Acting County Attorney Van Stephens, the moratorium will not apply to projects that have already been issued a land development or associated permit.

The county government also agreed to complete a study regarding the county's responsibilities for services within the city. That study will be completed by July 16.
