Mrs. Marjorie Marie Sutphin Ezzell, age 89, of Lawrenceville, GA, passed away on Monday, March 19, 2012. She is preceded in death by her son J. Kenneth Ezzell, parents Carl F. and Ruselle C. Sutphin, brothers, Edwin Sutphin and Carl Sutphin, Jr. and sister Carolyn Sutphin Telles. She is survived by her husband of 70 years, Julius James Ezzell, her daughter, Cheryl Ezzell Anacker and son-in-law Richard L. Anacker of Lawrenceville, GA, grandchildren Kimberly Anacker Davis and Rev. Edward Davis of Melbourne, Fl., Scott and Anne Anacker of Beaufort, SC, Michelle Ezzell Barta and Leslie Ezzell Cornelius of Jacksonville, FL, and eight great grandchildren. She was born in Winston-Salem, NC and graduated from New Hanover High School in Wilmington, NC. She was a gifted artist winning many awards for her artwork and had a long career in commercial art with various dept stores, headed the art dept of the “News & Courier” newspaper in Charleston, SC. and worked at the newspaper in Tallahassee, FL. She was a member and church secretary for many years at Bethany UMC, James Island, SC., and attended 1st UMC of Lawrenceville where she was a member of the Teresa Circle and a participant in the Disciple Bible Study program. A memorial service will be held at 1st United Methodist Church of Lawrenceville on Mon., April 2, 2012 at 4:00 PM, the Rev. Sheri Smith officiating.
