Local students headed to state science fairs

SUWANEE -- Nearly 100 Gwinnett County Public Schools students will pit their science projects against the hard work of fellow students from throughout the state during two upcoming events: the Georgia Science and Engineering Fair and the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair.

The Gwinnett middle and high school level students will have the chance to show what they've learned in their science classrooms after earning first place at the Gwinnett County Regional Science Fair in February.

A total of 55 student-researched projects from 17 different middle and high schools will represent the district during the upcoming competitions.

Students competing May 13-18 in the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair in Pittsburgh, Pa.: Vivek Patel, Collins Hill High; Christina To, Grayson High; and Aprotim Bhowmik, Parkview High.

Articles like this need to be front page and need to be repeated as much as the naysayers' comments and ability to control the newspaper's prattle. This is a strong commentary on teachers who teach ALL students and on the students' accomplishments.
