BUFORD -- The Jonesboro Police Department located an elderly Buford man Wednesday morning who was the subject of a Mattie's Call a day earlier, Gwinnett police said.
The 84-year-old man suffers from dementia and the advanced stages of Alzheimer's disease. He was last seen about 3 p.m. Tuesday, driving from his Tuggle Road home in a Chevrolet Trailblazer.
He appeared in good health when he turned up this morning in Jonesboro, some 60 miles from home, said Gwinnett police spokesman Cpl. Jake Smith.
In use in Georgia since 2006, Mattie's Call is an emergency alert issued for disabled or elderly people.
