Sugar Hill to host 'clean-up week' for residents

SUGAR HILL -- Have old appliances or lawn equipment lying around? Let the city of Sugar Hill take then off your hands.

On regular pick-up days during the week of May 7, Advanced Disposal will pick up waste that it normally wouldn't for Sugar Hill residents -- things like discarded lawn and garden furniture, appliances, other furniture and "general debris lying around the yard or basement."

Items placed by the street will be picked up at no charge.

While the garbage crews will collect unusual stuff, they won't be accepting refrigerators or freezers, yard trash or trimmings, construction debris, hazardous materials, engines, propane tanks or automotive parts. Check www.cityofsugarhill.com for a full list of items accepted and not accepted.

No Sugar Hill garbage bags are needed for items not typically accepted, but household garbage must still be in a bag or cart.
