GAB: Buford Lanier Woman's Club meeting planned

SUGAR HILL -- The Buford Lanier Woman's Club will hold its monthly meeting at 9:30 a.m. April 11 at the Sugar Hill Community Center, 1166 Church St., Sugar Hill.

The guest speaker is Sylvia Goalen from the Gwinnett County Fire and Emergency Services. Goalen will speak on a free community-centered program with the intent of improving the living conditions of Gwinnett's older adult population through education and prevention. She will focus heat and cold related emergencies, weather awareness, medication safety, health and exercise tips.


LAWRENCEVILLE -- World Heritage Student Exchange Program, a public benefit organization, is seeking local host families for high school boys and girls from Spain, Germany, Thailand, Norway, China, Russia, France, the former Soviet Union countries, Denmark, Italy and Sweden.

Host families are asked to include the student as a member of the family. Couples, single parents and families with and without children in the home are all encouraged to host. You can choose a student for a semester or for the school year.

Each World Heritage student is fully insured, brings his/her own personal spending money and expects to contribute to his/her share of household responsibilities as well as being included in normal family activities and lifestyles.

DULUTH -- The Rotary Club of Duluth has scheduled its "Out of the Rough" Golf Tournament for 9 a.m. April 25 at Chateau Elan Golf Club.
