Expo to help community spruce up for spring

PEACHTREE CORNERS -- Just in time for spring, a western Gwinnett community is coming together for a yard and garden expo.

The United Peachtree Corners Civic Association is hosting the expo at 7:30 p.m. Monday at Christ the King Lutheran Church's fellowship hall.

"Let's be proud of how we look in Peachtree Corners," organizer Gay Shook wrote in an email about the event. "The United Peachtree Corners Civic Association is hosting a program of great landscaping ideas from Mickey Gazaway of Pike Nursery who will present 'Let's Kick It Up a Notch!' Do we need to ramp up our curb appeal? Are we missing some pizzazz? Ms. Gazaway will find lots of that for us."

The event will feature some advice from local master gardeners and other business interests in the field, such as Gardens by Design, Howard's Hardware and Sonny's Outdoor Works. Representatives from the Gwinnett County Public Library will also be there, presenting landscaping books and library cards.

There may still be some exhibitor space open, which is free.
