Mrs. Rubie Brown Walters Daniell, 91, of Griffin, Georgia died on March 22, 2012 at Serenity Place Hospice in Dublin, Georgia. The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Saturday, March 24 at the Crowe-Fields Funeral Home, Millen, Georgia. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m., Sunday, March 25, 2012 at the Millen United Methodist Church with burial to follow in the Millen Cemetery. Pastors officiating will be the Rev. Bernie Khaw, the Rev. Christy Bandy, and the Rev. Andy Allen. On February 17, 1921 Mrs. Daniell was born the daughter of the late Ream and Maggie Brown of Four Points. After attending Georgia Teachers’ College in Statesboro she returned to Millen where she was employed for 42 years with Planter’s EMC retiring as Executive Secretary. She also served as bookkeeper for her late husband Cecil Walter’s business, Motor Bearings and Parts Company. Mrs. Daniell was involved in many community activities, the foremost as a member of the Millen United Methodist Church serving as the church treasurer for many years, in the choir, the Joy Circle, Beulah Garner Sunday School Class and United Methodist Women in which she held local and district offices. While actively involved in the Joy Circle, the Millen Fair on the Square was begun and for many years Mrs. Daniell provided leadership in promoting and organizing a Millen tradition, the Fair on the Square. In addition Mrs. Daniell was actively involved in the Millen Garden Club, Millen DAR, the Eastern Star and Lions Club. Several years after the death of her late husband, Cecil W. Walters, Jr. of Millen, Mrs. Daniell married Mr. Jeff Walter Daniell and they have lived happily in Griffin, Georgia for the past 12 years. While living in Griffin, Mrs. Daniell attended the Griffin First Baptist Church where she was a member of the Seeker’s Sunday School Class. Survivors include her husband, Jeff Walter Daniell of Griffin; four children, Theresa (Gibbs) Flanders of Dublin; Cecil Walters III of Millen; Beth (Barry) Kimble and Jeffrey (Cathy) Daniell both of Sugar Hill; and eight grandchildren, Daniel and Jacob Flanders, Gannon and Susannah Walters, Alex and Megan Kimble, and Christian and Evan Daniell, and her sister-in-law Louise Brown. She is preceded in death by her husband Cecil W. Walters, Jr; her parents Ream and Maggie Brown and brothers, George, John “Bud” and R.E. Brown. The pall bearers will be Emmett Brown, Don Brown, Frankie Brown, Barry Kimble, Billy Kimble, Bill Rowe, Jeffrey Daniell, Robert Reeves, and Lee Reeves.
