JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The Georgia Force ruined the reigning ArenaBowl champions' opening game at Sea Best Field at Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena with a dominating 69-41 win.
The win was the first for the Force over the Jacksonville Sharks.
Force QB R.J. Archer hit Larry Shipp six times in the game for touchdowns, starting with 3:57 left in the first quarter. Georgia's Eric Crosby returned an interception 20 yards to score and then Archer hit Shipp for the second time, this time for a 45-yard touchdown. Archer found Shipp again before halftime to give the Force a 27-14 lead at the break. In the second half, the duo stayed hot, connecting for three more scores. Archer added a rushing touchdown in the fourth quarter and ended the game with a touchdown pass to Brandon McRae.
