LAWRENCEVILLE --Dacula picked up its first Region 8-AAAAA baseball win Friday night by outdueling Archer 13-11.
Morgan Loyd led the offense for Dacula (2-12, 1-2), going 4-for-5 with a double and three RBIs. Michael Barnes finished 2-for-3 with two RBIs. Brandyn Bartlett added three hits, while Dustin Seiber finished 1-for-2 with three walks and two RBIs.
Travis Vanderhorst (1-0) started and went 3 innings for the win, giving up five runs on six hits with three strikeouts. Dylan Brown recorded his first save.
Peachtree Ridge 5, Collins Hill 4
SUWANEE -- Chris Wagner of Peachtree Ridge scored an unearned run off a throwing error in the top of the eighth to help give the Lions a 5-4 win over Collins Hill on Friday night in Region 7-AAAAA action.
Bryson Sellers delivered 3 strong innings of no-hit relief to keep the Lions close, while Tyler Haswell (2-1) pitched 1 innings of relief with two strikeouts in procuring the win.
Cooper Burdick, Tripp Miller and Brian Hanberry each had RBI hits for the Lions (8-4, 3-1), while Cole Rives finished 2-for-4 with a triple.
South 4, Central 3
LAWRENCEVILLE -- Jake Mullinax of South Gwinnett hurled a complete game Friday, helping the Comets hold off Central Gwinnett for a 4-3 Region 8-AAAAA win.
Mullinax (3-2) allowed three earned runs on seven hits with six strikeouts.
Adrian Martinez led the offense for South (6-7, 2-2) with a 3-for-4 day, including an RBI, while Ryan Patterson finished with a hit and an RBI. Jordan Ramey, Montrell Marshall and Drew McCarthy also each had a hit for South.
Luis Valdez of Central (4-8, 2-2) went 3-for-4 with an RBI to lead the Black Knights, while Darwin Mendez and Daniel Valdez each went 1-for-3 with an RBI. Eli Vale also had a hit, while Grant Thiel (1-4) struck out eight in taking the loss.
Shiloh 10, Berkmar 0
SNELLVILLE -- Shiloh starter Michael Houchin delivered a no-hitter Friday night in leading the Generals 10-0 over Berkmar in five innings.
Kyle Lewis sparked the offense for Shiloh with a two-run homer, while Jeremy Glore added two hits. Shiloh upped its record to 8-5 overall and 1-2 in Region 8-AAAAA.
Mill Creek 13, Duluth 0
DULUTH -- Mill Creek posted a shutout Friday night, topping Duluth 13-0 in seven innings for a Region 7-AAAAA win.
Ben Crowder led the offense for Mill Creek (8-4, 5-1), going 2-for-3 with a double and three RBIs. Tad Newman added two hits and two RBIs, while Dillon Kokinos finished 2-for-3 with an RBI.
Shane Seckinger (2-0) pitched five innings in getting the win, surrendering four hits and striking out seven.
Mountain View 4, Norcross 2
NORCROSS -- Mountain View recorded a Region 7-AAAAA win Friday night with a 4-2 defeat of Norcross.
A.J. Moore delivered a complete game for the win, giving up two runs (one earned) on five hits with eight strikeouts. Offensively, Ben Utley led the Bears (10-2, 4-2) with two hits, including a triple and two runs.
Beau Blair chipped in with two hits in the win, while Garry Gwaltney added a hit and a run. Joey Bell and Crew Peery also each had a hit.
Chris Raasch (1-2) went seven innings for Norcross in the loss, striking out four and walking four. Raasch was also 1-for-3 with an RBI at the plate, while Joseph Wilber went 1-for-3. Griffin Helms went 1-for-2 with a walk and stolen base, while Kevin Cosola doubled and scored.
Stephens Co. 3, Lanier 2
SUGAR HILL --Stephens County pushed across a run in the top of the eighth to take a 3-2 decision over Lanier on Friday night in Region 8-AAA.
T.J. Richardson went 2-for-4 with an RBI for Lanier (6-4, 4-2), while Kevin Clark went 2-for-3 with an RBI. Austin Wood and Taylor Grant also each had two hits.Matthew Ramsay started and gave six strong innings, allowing one earned run with three strikeouts in a no decision. Kameron Doster followed with two innings of relief, surrendering an earned run in being charged with the loss.
Covenant Christian 7, Holy Ground 2
LOGANVILLE -- Covenant Christian improved to 8-1 on Friday night with a 7-2 win over Holy Ground.
Jeremy Schafer led the offense, going 2-for-3 with three RBIs and a home run, while Joseph Crowley went 3-for-3 with an RBI.
Ryan Nichols pitched four innings in earning the win, giving up one earned run on six hits with three strikeouts. Jordan Argo added three solid innings of relief, with one earned run on four hits and three strikeouts.
Brookwood 9, Berkmar 0
LILBURN -- Fiorella Gamarra had three goals and one assist Friday night as Brookwood blasted Berkmar 9-0 in Region 8-AAAAA.
Kim Fincher also scored three goals, while Sanon Williams added two goals and three assists for the Broncos (6-5). Cassidy Barker finished with one goal, while McKenzie Fischer and Meredith Towey each had an assist.
Grayson 6, Central 0
LOGANVILLE -- Alexa Webb of Grayson notched a hat trick Friday night in helping the Rams to a 6-0 win over Central Gwinnett in Region 8-AAAAA.
Brittney Bennett added two goals and an assist, while Ashley Griffin, Allison Pickett and Brittany Miller each added one goal for the Rams (8-3-1, 2-1). Kady Picklesimer and Tori Denton shared goal keeping duties in the shutout.
Archer 4, South 0
SNELLVILLE -- Megan Wilson of Archer scored two goals Friday night as the Tigers blanked South Gwinnett 4-0 in Region 8-AAAAA.
Caroline Mangum and Olivia Sabina added one goal each for the Tigers (8-3, 3-1), while Rachael Pfeiffer recorded the shutout at keeper.
Peachtree Ridge 7, Meadowcreek 0
NORCROSS -- Six different players scored for Peachtree Ridge as the Lions upended Meadowcreek 7-0 on Friday night in Region 7-AAAAA.
Alanna Dineen scored two of the goals. Jordyn Missel, Heather Bowman, Courtney Miller, Phoebe Palmer and Macey Raines each scored one. The shutout went to Brittnay Gonzales at keeper.
Mill Creek 8, Mountain View 0
HOSCHTON -- Lauren Tanner scored three goals and Cortney Emmert kicked in two more on Friday night as Mill Creek ran away with an 8-0 win over Mountain View in Region 7-AAAAA action.
Alex Giles, Megan Gil and Courtney Dobeck each added one goal, while Rachel Allred saved two shots at keeper in the shutout. The win improved Mill Creek to 6-3-1 overall and 2-1 in the region.
Norcross 4, Duluth 0
NORCROSS -- Norcross received two goals each from Jenna McEachern and Jordan Lewter as the Blue Devils blanked Duluth 4-0 on Friday night in a Region 7-AAAAA game.
Sydney Hanna and Kennedy White shared time at keeper for the shutout. The win improved Norcross to 4-6-1 overall and 2-1 in the region.
Blessed Trinity 3, GAC 2
NORCROSS -- Blessed Trinity battled back to top Greater Atlanta Christian 3-2 on Friday night in a rematch of last season's state title game.
Blessed Trinity took a 1-0 lead when GAC (10-1, 5-1) tied it off a goal from Kayla Puzas with the assist from Taylor Wagnon. The Spartans then took a 2-1 lead when Rachel Garcia scored off an assist from Tayler McPherson.
The Titans tied the game at 2-2 on a goal with just over four minutes left in regulation and went on to win with a 4-2 advantage on penalty kicks.
Buford 2, Decatur 1
BUFORD -- Buford nipped Decatur 2-1 on Friday night, bumping its record up to 9-3 overall and 4-0 in Region 6-AA.
Scoring one goal each for the Wolves was Ceely Coker and Lindsey White.
Brookwood 3, Berkmar 1
LILBURN -- Brookwood improved to 9-2 overall and 4-0 in Region 8-AAAAA on Friday night with a 3-1 win over Berkmar.
Trevor Mooney, Brahan Gamarra and Bryson Dorsey each scored for the Broncos, while Dorsey and Adrian Alabi each provided an assist.
Central 3, Grayson 1
LOGANVILLE -- Central Gwinnett keeper Charlie DeLoatche saved 14 shots on Friday night to help the Black Knights top Grayson 4-1 in Region 8-AAAAA action.
Juan Gonzales and Samir Ramic each had a goal and an assist for Central (7-4-1, 3-1), while Tyler Budd scored one goal.
Peachtree Ridge 4, Meadowcreek 2
NORCROSS -- Jeremy Rector of Peachtree Ridge recorded two goals and two assists Friday night as the Lions got past Meadowcreek 4-2 in Region 7-AAAAA.
Rector's first assist led to a goal by Williamson, while his second assist resulted in a goal by Juan Herrera. Williamson also recorded two assists as the Lions improved to 8-2 overall and 2-1 in the region.
Duluth 2, Norcross 0
NORCROSS -- Duluth scored two goals in the second half to post a 2-0 win over Norcross in Region 7-AAAAA action Friday.
Ivaylo Yordanov scored the first goal off an assist from Nico Iotov, while Iotov provided the second goal with a header off a feed from Henry Montoya. The shutout went to keeper Alex Nava. Duluth improved to 6-2-3 overall and 3-0 in the region. Norcross fell to 3-8-1 overall and 0-3 in region play.
GAC 2, Blessed Trinity 0
NORCROSS -- Greater Atlanta Christian picked up two goals from Stevin Bienfait on Friday night in recording a 2-0 win over Blessed Trinity in Region 6-AA action.
Both of Bienfait's goals were assisted by Will Hamryka. The win bumped GAC up to 8-4-1 overall and 5-1 in the region.
Buford 5, Decatur 1
BUFORD -- Buford and Decatur were tied 1-1 at the half when Buford reeled off four unanswered goals to pull away for a 5-1 win in a Region 6-AA match.
Esgardo Arroyo led the charge with three goals, while Matt Bonadies and Christian Lopez each scored one. Baxter Argo had seven saves in goal for the Wolves (9-2, 4-0).
Peachtree Ridge 16, Duluth 0
DULUTH -- Steven Lee and Michael Ruffcorn scored four goals each Friday night in helping Peachtree Ridge cruise to a 16-0 lead over Duluth.
Adding three goals for the Lions (6-4) was Doug Poedtke, while Gus Johnson and Jarrett Lowery each scored two. Greg Rose saved four shots at keeper, while Sourish Ray came in and saved two.
Johns Creek 15, GAC 9
NORCROSS -- Greater Atlanta Christian suffered its second loss of the season Friday night with a 15-9 defeat to Johns Creek.
Eric Reynolds and Peter Whiteneck each had two goals and two assists for GAC (5-2), while Whit Anderson and Gunner Cape each scored twice. Conner Finneran added one goal, while Stewart Butler saved 19 shots at keeper.
J.L. Mann 13, Collins Hill 12
ATLANTA -- Despite a 13-save night from keeper Stephanie Lam, Collins Hill came up just short on Friday night, falling 13-12 to J.L. Mann in the Dogwood Classic at Westminster.
Anna Britt had two goals and an assist for Collins Hill, while Laura Lawrence, Kara Knapik and Emma Gilbert each scored two goals.
Brookwood shoots 80 in win over Grayson
SNELLVILLE -- Brookwood's Taylor Allen tied a school record with a 35 on Friday afternoon as the Broncos topped Grayson 80 to 96 at Summit Chase.
Brookwood had two others shoot 45 in Kaitlyn Cundiff and Allison Gammie. Grayson also received a 45 from Julie Spangler.
Brookwood 3, Johns Creek 2
SNELLVILLE -- Brookwood picked up two singles wins and one doubles win on Friday to get past Johns Creek 3-2 in a non-region match.
Mark Guentert took the No. 1 singles match, while Drew Wendel provided the clincher with a No. 3 singles win. David Brown and Matt Jones also added a point with a win at No. 1 doubles.
Holy Ground 11, Covenant Christian 5
GRAYSON -- Covenant Christian's record fell to 2-2 on Friday night with an 11-5 loss to Holy Ground.
Casey Deaton had three hits for Covenant Christian, while Ashley Russell added a single and a triple. Deaton also recorded 10 strikeouts as the starter.
