New stores coming to Mall of Georgia

BUFORD -- Shoppers at the Mall of Georgia will soon have more options to buy shoes, cosmetics and electonic accessories.

Simon Property Group, which owns the mall, announced on Thursday that it will add six new stores to its roster of 200 between April and June. Two others will undergo renovations.

Vans, Brookstone, The Walking Company, Lush, Leonisa and Vanicci Salon will be new to the mall. This is the second time in less than a year that Mall of Georgia announced new stores. The mall opened Lotus Boutique and Brighten Collectibles late last year, and Painted Penguin and Francesca's Collection earlier this month.

Carol Cox, director of marketing and business development, said this time of year works well because it's before the tourism season, and long before the holidays.

"It adds a more unique shopping experience," Cox said. "We have everything from A to Z."

Cox said the new permanent tenants mostly replaced temporary ones, and she expects to announce more deals soon.

Vans, which sells action sports footwear that caters to the youth market, will have a 3,000 square foot space in June on the second floor near the Nordstrom wing. Also in June, Lush, a handmade cosmetic retailer that specializes in products made of fruits and vegetables, will open next to Belk. Leonisa, a swimwear and intimate apparel store, will open its first U.S. store next to The Disney Store in June. Beauty retailer Vanicci Salon wil have nearly 2,000 square feet near Nordstrom.

Brookstone, which products include ear buds, outdoor furniture and personal massagers, will open a 4,179 square foot space in April across from H&M.

The Walking Company shoe store will open in May in the Nordstrom wing in a 1,619 square foot space.

Shoe store Clark's will relocate inside the mall near Belk, and have about 2,500 square feet. Mattress store Select Comfort will move by Kidgets Korner in the Nordstrom Wing and have about an 1,800 square foot space.
