PREP ROUNDUP: Duluth boys edge Mill Creek on penalty kicks

HOSCHTON -- Duluth won 2-1 (4-2 on penalty kicks) over Mill Creek after the two teams ended regulation and overtime tied at 1-1. Henry Montoya had the lone goal for Duluth (6-2-2, 1-1), while Brandon O'Toole scored for Mill Creek.

Mountain View 5, Norcross 1

LAWRENCEVILLE -- Four different players scored as Mountain View defeated Norcross 5-1 in Region 7-AAAAA. Jason Sayers had two goals, while Dylen Harper, Dustin Stone and David Illescas each had a goal for the Bears (7-3, 1-1). Jeff Hollingsworth came up big in goal for Mountain View with 12 saves. Norcross (3-7-1, 0-2) got a goal from Juan Martinez.

North 2, Meadowcreek 0

SUWANEE -- Matthew Melton and Kian Pourak had a goal each as North blanked Meadowcreek 2-0 in Region 7-AAAAA. Max Smith got the shutout in goal for North (4-5-1, 1-1).

Grayson 4, Dacula 2

DACULA -- Alvaro Pava had two goals and Adam Kremo and Sylvain Coquerel had a goal each as Grayson defeated Dacula 4-2. Grayson moves to 6-4-1 overall and 1-1 in 8-AAAAA.

Hebron 2, Chestatee 0

GAINESVILLE -- Cole Redman and Johnny Hardin had a goal each as Hebron blanked Chestatee 2-0. Chris Austin added an assist and Hardin also had an assist for the Lions (6-4).

Decatur 3, GAC 0

DECATUR -- Greater Atlanta Christian dropped a 3-0 decision to Decatur to fall to 7-4-1 overall and 4-1 in 6-AA.

Paideia 2, Providence 0

ATLANTA -- In a battle of the No. 1 and 2 teams in Class A, Paideia scored two second-half goals to take a 2-0 decision over Providence in Region 5-A action. Providence falls to 5-4 overall and 2-2 in 5-A.

DULUTH -- Five players scored goals as Mill Creek knocked off Duluth 6-1 in Region 7-AAAAA. Lauren Tanner had two goals, while Cortney Emmert, Nicole Ruggieri, McKenzie Rice and Megan Hatfield each had a goal for Mill Creek (5-3-1, 1-1). Tamaya Tompoe got the lone goal for Duluth (1-6-1, 0-2).

North 10, Meadowcreek 0

SUWANEE -- Seven different players scored goals as North cruised to a 10-0 win over Meadowcreek in Region 7-AAAAA. Taylor Burns had three goals and an assist, while Katie Strand had two goals for the Bulldogs (6-4, 2-0). Caroline Gualdoni, Jordan Goldring, Brooke Bortles, Raina Davis and Lauren Harriman each had a goal for North. Austin McCausland and Jenifer Jacobs combined in goal for the shutout.

LAWRENCEVILLE -- Four different players scored as Norcross rolled to a 5-0 win over Mountain View in Region 7-AAAAA. Jordan Brown led the way with two goals, while Jordan Lewter, Maddie Clark and Ariel Silvers each had a goal for the Blue Devils (3-6-1, 1-1). Jenna McEachern added three assists for Norcross, while goal keepers Kennedy White and Sydney Hanna combined to blank Mountain View.

Archer 2, Berkmar 1

LILBURN -- Caroline Mangum and Mackenzie Brown each had a goal as Archer got past Berkmar 2-1 in Region 8-AAAAA. The Tigers improved to 7-3 overall and 2-1 in the region.

SNELLVILLE -- Kelly Geary got the lone goal in the game as South edged Shiloh 1-0 in Region 8-AAAAA.

DACULA -- Dacula won 7-6 on penalty kicks over Grayson in Region 8-AAAAA. Megaly Gutierrez picked up the shutout win in goal for Dacula (8-1-1, 2-0).

DECATUR -- Rachel Garcia had two goals and Danielle Marcano and Kayla Puzas each had a goal as Greater Atlanta Christian defeated Decatur 4-0.

Mill Creek 4, North 1

HOSCHTON -- Mill Creek swept all three singles and got a win at No. 1 doubles en route to a 4-1 win over North in Region 7-AAAAA. Quentin Lavender at No. 1, Adam Gonterman at No. 2 and Tyler Abbott at No. 3 picked up wins in singles for Mill Creek (11-4, 3-1). Brad Adkins and Travis Hanes got a win at No. 1 doubles for the Hawks.

Dacula 4, Berkmar 1

DACULA -- Dacula took two out of three singles matches and both doubles matches in a 4-1 win over Berkmar in Region 8-AAAAA. Matt Nelson won at No. 1 singles and Spence Richardson won at No. 2 singles for Dacula. Alex Chastain and Jesse Coggins were victorious at No. 1 doubles and John Cobb and Chang Kim won at No. 2 doubles for the Falcons (4-10, 3-3).

Grayson 3, Archer 2

LAWRENCEVILLE -- Grayson got a win at No. 3 singles and swept both doubles as the Rams edged Archer 3-2 at Rhodes Jordan Park. Caleb White won at No. 3 singles, while Matt Bolt and Parker Evans won at No. 1 doubles and Brady Narey and Zachary Cavaness won at No. 2 doubles for Grayson (7-3, 4-1). Archer picked up wins from Aaron Harris at No. 1 singles and Alex Butenko at No. 2 singles.

NORCROSS -- Duluth rolled past Meadowcreek 5-0 as the Wildcats (3-6) took all five matches. Ahbi Ramachandiran at No. 1, Brandon Chiem at No. 2 and Egor Teryushkov at No. 3 got wins in singles. Erol Baran and Nico Stasffanel at No. 1 and Deepak Iyer and Jessie Shearer at No. 2 took wins in doubles for the Wildcats.

LAWRENCEVILLE -- Central swept the singles and got a win at No. 1 doubles in a 4-1 win over South in Region 8-AAAAA. Tommy Nguyen at No. 1, Elijah Clarke at No. 2 and Tony Nguyen at No. 3 got wins in singles. Tyler Nguyen and Chris Morrison picked up the win at No. 1 doubles for the Black Knights (9-5, 5-3). Andre Coleman and Jasper Tseng won at No. 2 doubles for South.

BUFORD -- Buford took both doubles matches, but dropped all three singles in a 3-2 loss to Decatur. Skyler Wilson and Josh Thompson won at No. 1 doubles and Jabin Stepp and Nicholas Becker won at No. 2 doubles for the Wolves (10-2).

Hebron 4, Commerce 1

COMMERCE -- Hebron swept singles en route to a 4-1 win over Commerce. Jarod Beck at No. 1, Josh Beck at No. 2 and James Everson at No. 3 got the wins in singles, while Justin Starner and Johnell McLean won at No. 1 doubles for the Lions (8-0).

Mount Pisgah 4, Providence 1

ROSWELL -- Emory Williams got the only win at No. 2 singles as Providence dropped a 4-1 decision to Mount Pisgah at the Country Club of Roswell.

Habersham Central 3, Apalachee 2

WINDER -- Brandon Tovar and Lee Vue won at No. 1 doubles and Zach Batt won at No. 2 singles, but Apalachee dropped a 3-2 decision to Habersham Central in 8-AAAA North subregion action. Apalachee falls to 4-4 overall 2-3 in the subregion.

GIRLS TENNIS

Mill Creek 3, North 2

HOSCHTON -- A pair of wins in doubles and a win at No. 1 singles propelled Mill Creek to a 3-2 win over North in Region 7-AAAAA. Cailey Stevens and Mallory Kolts at No. 1 and Natalie Martinez and Abbi Jordan at No. 2 got the wins in doubles and Madison was victorious at No. 1 singles for the Hawks (14-2, 5-0). Hannah Serdinia at No. 2 singles and Izzy Balsavage at No. 3 singles got the wins for North (8-5, 1-2).

Peachtree Ridge 4, Collins Hill 1

SUWANEE -- Peachtree Ridge took two out of three singles and both doubles matches in a 4-1 win over Collins Hill in Region 7-AAAAA. Abby Owens at No. 1 and Ali Mills at No. 2 got singles wins for Peachtree Ridge. Erin Mills and Jessica Northcutt at No. 1 and Rachel Anderson and Mary Frances Greenwood at No. 2 picked up wins in doubles for the Lions (6-1, 4-0). Lexi Owensby got the lone win for Collins Hill (4-9, 1-3) at No. 3 singles.

NORCROSS --A sweep of both doubles matches and wins at No. 2 and 3 singles lifted Norcross to a 4-1 win over Mountain View in Region 7-AAAAA. Allison Plummer and Heather Shine at No. 1 and Amanda Northrup at No. 2 doubles got wins for Norcross (10-5, 3-1) while Stacy Lackey at No. 2 and Kristie Toteoh at No. 3 won in singles for the Blue Devils.

Central 4, South 1

LAWRENCEVILLE -- Central took both doubles and got wins at No. 1 and 3 singles in a 4-1 win over South. Asmoni Morris-Simmons and Tanner Moore at No. 1 and Quiting Zheng and Trang Nguyen at No. 2 got the wins in doubles. Sun Mi Hirata at No. 1 and Kathy Nguyen at No. 3 got the wins in singles for the Black Knights (5-9, 2-6).

DULUTH -- Jenny Li carded a 41 and Annie Jin added a 52 as Peachtree Ridge defeated Apalachee 93-116 at Sugarloaf Country Club.

MONROE -- Julie Spangler's 45 led the way as Grayson defeated Collins Hill 96-106 at Providence Club. Merritt Williams had a 49 to lead Collins Hill.

SUGAR HILL -- Cole Parks led the way with a 42 as Mountain View defeated Lanier 181-210 at Sugar Hill Golf Course. James Hughes had a team-best 45 for Lanier. Mountain View improved to 7-4 for the season.

MONROE -- Michael Clay had a 38 and Conner Dickinson added a 39 as Grayson got past Collins Hill 159-166 at Providence Club. Patrick Hilton and Alex Simpson each had a 41 for Collins Hill.

TUCKER -- Bill Mizell carded a three-over 39 as Greater Atlanta Christian dropped a 162-171 decision to Lovett at the Heritage Golf Links.

Hebron 175, Prince Avenue 203

DACULA -- Hebron knocked off Prince Avenue 175-203 as Casey Price had a 39 to lead the Lions at Trophy Club of Apalachee.

Hebron 18, Lakeview 9

GAINESVILLE -- P.J. Westbury went 4-for-5 with a homer and four RBI as Hebron pounded Lakeview 18-9 in Region 8-A. Westbury also had three doubles to lead the way for Hebron (9-1, 6-0). Jordan Hillyer went 3-for-6 with two doubles and two RBI while Tyler Hutch went 2-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI. Benji Cash was also 2-for-4 with four RBI and Nathan Holt was 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Pace 6, Providence 5

ATLANTA -- Austin Golden went 3-for-4 with a double and Josh Carter was 2-for-3, but it wasn't enough as Providence fell to Pace Academy 6-5 in Region 5-A. Golden also had a stolen base and a run scored while Carter had an RBI and a run scored for the Stars (6-6, 2-2).

Killian Hill 12, Covenant Christian 0

CUMMING -- Alex Atteberry picked up the win on the mound and also went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead Killian Hill Christian to a 12-0 five-inning victory over Covenant Christian. Atteberry (2-3) went five innings and allowed just five hits while striking out eight. Atteberry also homered and drove in two runs for the Cougars (4-3). Preston Atteberry went 1-for-3 with two RBIs, while Esai Harmon homered and drove in four runs for Killian Hill. Samuel Winston added a 2-for-3 day at the plate.

GIRLS LACROSSE

Collins Hill 12, Parkview 9

SUWANEE -- Kara Knapik had six goals to lead Collins Hill to a 12-9 win over Parkview. Anna Britt had three goals while Carly Marksberry had two goals and four assists for the Eagles (4-3, 3-1). Victoria Petrassi led Parkview (3-8) with four goals and Bethany Barbour added two goals. Naomi Killian, Kelly Spevacek and Sarah Curlee each had a goal for the Panthers.

Grayson 10, Brookwood 9

SNELLVILLE -- Lindsay Parris and Austyn Gorski each had three goals and an assist as Grayson edged Brookwood 10-9. Anna LaCavera had a goal and an assist while Maddie LaCavera and Ashley Mistretta each had a goal for the Rams (10-0).

LOGANVILLE -- Ben Mertz and Garrett Gorski had three goals each as Grayson knocked off Brookwood 11-1. Thatcher Smith added two goals and an assist while Christian Brook had two goals for Grayson (6-2). Zach Dirske had one goal and three assists and Brandon Kelly added a goal for the Rams.

Peachtree Ridge 7, Mill Creek 6

HOSCHTON -- Peachtree Ridge rallied from a 6-1 deficit to pull out a thrilling 7-6 win over Mill Creek. Doug Poedtke, who scored the game-winner with less than five minutes to go, led the way with three goals while Michael Ruffcorn had a pair of goals for the Lions (5-4). Steven Lee and Jacob Lee each had a goal for Peachtree Ridge in the comeback win. Greg Rose had nine saves in goal for the Lions. Nick Kozlowski led Mill Creek with three goals while Will Bryan, Alec Bussink and Reed Stanton each had a goal for the Hawks (2-4).

Collins Hill 13, Parkview 1

SUWANEE -- Abe Heller, Lou Schreckenberger and Holin Axley each had three goals as Collins Hill rolled past Parkview 13-1. Davis Bayles added two goals for the Eagles (5-4).
