LAWRENCEVILLE -- Gwinnett Chamber of Commerce officials named the top 25 small businesses for 2012 Monday.

The list features companies from plumbing to information technology, who will be honored at the organization's annual Pinnacle Awards April 27.

The businesses, each award winners already, will compete to be named the county's Small Business of the Year at the luncheon, to be held at 11:30 a.m. at the Atlanta Marriott-Gwinnett Place.

"We are honored to celebrate and recognize Gwinnett's top small business owners whose entrepreneurial achievements are a driving force behind the U.S. economic recovery," said Jim Maran, president and CEO of the Gwinnett Chamber. "These small businesses create significant job opportunity and are essential to sustaining economic growth and prosperity."

In addition, Cynthia Kaye, the president and CEO of Logical Choice Technologies, was named the winner of the Pacesetter Award. And the Chamber plans to honor top local nonprofits at the event. Those include: Gwinnett Coalition for Health & Human Services, Gwinnett Medical Center Foundation, Jacqueline Casey Hudgens Center for the Arts, and Rainbow Village, Inc.
