NORCROSS -- Fire crews extricated one person from a car Friday morning who had driven through the front of a Norcross business and became trapped, officials said.
The Kia Sephia struck a "We Buy Gold" business in a building at the 3300 block of Holcomb Bridge Road and Jimmy Carter Boulevard about 8 a.m. It continued inside the building and came to a rest halfway through the structure. The business was closed at the time, said Fire Department spokesman Lt. Eric Eberly.
One person was extricated from the vehicle, evaluated by paramedics and transported to Gwinnett Medical Center in Lawrenceville for evaluation of minor injuries, Eberly said.
No other injuries were reported.
"The driver suffered from a previous medical condition that is believed to have contributed to the incident," Eberly said.
Damages were relegated to the business's front window and brick molding, so the integrity of the structure was not compromised, Eberly said.
