SUWANEE -- The Gwinnett County Board of Education named a new leader to Dacula High School on Thursday during its monthly meeting.
Bryan Long will take the place of longtime Dacula Principal Donnie Nutt, who retires at the end of March.
Long, who will begin as principal on April 2, has worked with the school district in many capacities since 1995 including director of the office of student discipline and behavioral intervention, department of academic support, division of school leadership and operational support; assistant principal at GIVE Center East; assistant principal at Grayson High; and he was a language arts teacher at Meadowcreek High and South Gwinnett High.
He also served as an adjunct professor with the department of educational administration and policy, University of Georgia.
Long is a graduate of the school district's inaugural Class of 2007 Quality-Plus Leader Academy, Aspiring Principal Program.
