ATLANTA (AP) -- Forecasters say record heat is expected as a heat wave continues in Georgia.
The National Weather Service is forecasting a high temperature Thursday near 83 degrees in Atlanta.
That would break Atlanta's record high for the date of 81 degrees. That record was set in 1946 and tied in 1973.
The weather service is predicting more heat for the weekend, with a high near 81 on Friday and near 83 on Saturday in Atlanta.
