LAWRENCEVILLE -- A local medical practice has announced an inaugural list of students who will receive scholarships for their excellence in academics, athletics and community service.
The Gwinnett Touchdown Club Sports Medicine South Scholarship recognizes students from each of 22 Gwinnett County public and private high schools competing through the Georgia High School Association.
"Sports Medicine South is pleased to be able to give back to the community with this scholarship," said Dr. Gary Levengood. "This award recognizes outstanding individuals for whom academic, athletic and community service add to their well-roundedness and their potential to become upstanding citizens in the future. We appreciate the contributions of all the sponsors in furthering the work of the Gwinnett Touchdown Club and in making this award possible."
Each award winner received a $600 scholarship. Recipients included the following: John Case, Archer High; Mikel Sessions, Berkmar; Dillon Snider, Brookwood, Tyler Burge, Buford; George Morris, Central Gwinnett; Chris Stewart Collins Hill; Rocky Capobianco, Dacula; Tim Mettille, Duluth; Devin Gillespie, Grayson; Kalif Raymond, Greater Atlanta Christian School; Thomas McMillan Norris, Hebron Christian School; Hendhi Agenor, Lanier; Alex Steele, Meadowcreek; Zack Johnson, Mill Creek; Frederick Hill, Mountainview; Isaiah Hinsley, Norcross; Tyler Nemec, North Gwinnett; Bryce Goldsby Parkview; Harry Obiorah, Peachtree Ridge; Michael Oden, Shiloh; Jareyl Slate, South Gwinnett; and Zander Yost, Wesleyan School.
