Best Buy Surveillance Video
In this surveillance video provided by the Snellville Police Department, you'll see a team of masked burglars plunge a large truck through the bay door making off with valuable electronics.
SNELLVILLE -- A team of masked burglars plunged a large truck through the door of a Snellville Best Buy overnight, making off with valuable electronics, police said.
The burglars struck about 3:10 a.m. on Monday at the 1709 Scenic Highway retailer. They drove a dark-colored pickup truck that appears to be a late-model Dodge Ram through a roll-up door in the store's back bay, said Snellville police spokesman Capt. Harold Thomas.
Surveillance video shows what appears to be five people exit the truck and smash an interior window to gain access to the showroom. They loaded cameras, laptop computers and electronic notebooks into bags and fled in the truck in less than two minutes. They all wore masks and gloves, Thomas said.
"We don't have much to go on because they all were completely covered, from head to toe," he said.
A company was on scene repairing the smashed door Monday, as the total value of stolen items was being tabulated. Police didn't find any evidence that the vehicle was damaged by the impact, Thomas said.
Thomas said the M.O. for the smash-and-grab burglary is an anomaly in his jurisdiction. Officials were releasing the surveillance video Monday in hopes other agencies that have handled similar crimes will come forward.
"It's definitely unique for us," Thomas said.

Something tells me this won't be last time I hear about this happening. Can't wait until the burglars try this on a roll up door with a forklift parked behind it!

Just trying to confirm that Dodges really are RAM tough...
Can't avoid the irony since this occurred first in the Snellville area, where "Dodge" is the offical vehicle of the politically connected.
