Kyle Maynard's journey to the peak of Africa's tallest mountain was featured nationally Sunday on a pair of ESPN programs.
Maynard -- a Collins Hill grad and congenital quadruple amputee -- reached the peak of Mt. Kilimanjaro in January, joined by a team of friends, professional climbers and military veterans. Equipped with specialized equipment, Maynard essentially crawled up the entire length of the mountain, the world's tallest free-standing peak.
His story was featured Sunday on ESPN's "SportsCenter" and "Outside the Lines" programs.
In high school Maynard wrestled, and has since become a motivational speaker, authored a New York Times bestselling book and pursued his dream of mixed martial arts fighting.
