The Gwinnett Heat basketball team, from the Gwinnett County Public Schools' Adapted Sports program, advanced to the Wheelchair Basketball State Championship Game with a 35-10 over the Atlanta Wolfpack this past weekend.
The victory sends the Heat into Friday's state finals, a 12:15 p.m. matchup against the West Georgia Wolverines at the Arena at Gwinnett Center. The GCPS program is seeking its first-ever state basketball title and is making its second state championship game appearance.
Martinez Johnson scored 16 points to lead the Heat in its semifinal win. Keitra Douglas scored eight points, Brice Croxton had seven points and Stephen Hobson chipped in four points for the Heat.
