ATLANTA (AP) — Forecasters say a tornado watch has been issued in parts of northwest Georgia and much of the central part of the state, including Gwinnett County.
The National Weather Service says the watch has been issued until 1 a.m. with a high risk of risk of isolated tornadoes, severe thunderstorms and hail in northwest areas.
The weather service says the most likely time for severe storms will last until Saturday morning.
A tornado warning was issued earlier in Gwinnett and expired just after 10 p.m.
