ATLANTA (AP) -- Officials say they had no reports of major damage as strong storms moved through north Georgia, which had been under the threat of possible tornadoes as a large weather system pushed through the state.
Much of north Georgia was under a tornado watch for several hours Wednesday evening, but dangerous storms never materialized. The Rome News-Tribune reports that firefighters were called to a lightning strike at a house on Morrison Campground Road, but it didn't cause any major problems.
The National Weather Service said more thunderstorms are possible Friday morning through Saturday evening across north and central Georgia, and some of the storms could be severe.
