1.5 pounds of meth found in Duluth

DULUTH -- Authorities found a stash of crystal methamphetamine worth upwards of $200,000 in a bust Wednesday at a Grovewood Lane home in the city of Duluth.

Serving a search warrant, Duluth police and GBI agents also seized $9,000, a .40 caliber handgun and a Hummer H2 at the home.

The investigation is part of a ongoing federal probe in several Southern states, said Duluth police spokesman Maj. Don Woodruff.

The street value of the 1.5 pounds of meth seized "can exceed $200,000, depending on how it is cut and sold," Woodruff said.

Woodruff said no one was at the home when the search warrant was executed. The names of suspects are being withheld.

With a judicial system from top to bottom like ours why on Earth would these guys choose Gwinnett as a hub for drug running ? Every police department in Gwinnett is at the top of their game and the DA's office nails the coffin shut more than any other in the state. Makes no sense at all.
