God Bless America Blu-ray (R)
Movie: 3 out of 4 stars
Disc: 3 and 1/2 out of 4 stars
Writer/director Bobcat Goldthwait's follow-up to the slightly better "World's Greatest Dad" is a blistering, very violent satire and pointed indictment regarding America's misplaced obsession with fleeting celebrity and broken moral compass. An equal opportunity offender, Goldwhaite skewers the left and the right, the rich and poor, the dumb and the dumber. With so much at stake it's not surprising that the final scene is something of an over-the-top letdown. Even if you've already seen the film, the disc -- stuffed with great extras -- is a more-than worthy keeper.
