Charles “Charlie” Wilson Berry, Sr., age 90 of Duluth passed away June 26, 2012. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Ellene Laura (Leach). He is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Ann (Sammy) Everett, Dacula; Gail (Larry) Haney, Dacula. Sons & daughters-in-law, Charles Jr. (Cindy) Berry, Auburn; John (Lynn) Berry, Culleoke, TN. Also surviving are grandchildren; Jeff (Sue) Haney, Jeremy (Brooke) Haney, Josh Haney, Cory Everett, Charles Berry III (Nicole), Nathan (Tabitha) Berry, Misty (Andrew) Mook, Jeremy (Laura) Gee, Josh Gee. Ten great grandchildren include Natalie, Paige & Jacob Haney; Tristen & Caleb Haney; Haley & Charles Berry IV, Tristan Spicer; Gavin & Tanner Gee. He was a member of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church, Auburn. Mr. Berry was a veteran of World War II and served in the European Theatre taking part in the Allied D-Day invasion at Normandy. He was a lifelong resident of Duluth and was an avid gardener spending every moment that he could outside. He was also co-owner of Berry’s Lawn Service. He never met a stranger and enjoyed life to the fullest. He was our “Pop” and he will be sorely missed. Services will be held 2 PM Saturday, June 30 at the Chapel of Tim Stewart Funeral Home, Lawrenceville with the Rev. Sammy Everett officiating. Interment at White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Duluth. Visitation will be Friday June 29 from 2-4 and 6-9 PM.
