Greater Atlanta Christian's Bailey Tardy shot a 1-under 71 to share first place at a qualifier Tuesday in Alpharetta and earn an automatic bid into the U.S. Girls Junior Amateur Championship.
Bailey tied Villa Rica's Sydney Needham at The Manor Golf and Country Club, beating out a field of 53 golfers.
The 64th annual girls' junior championship will be held July 16-21 at Lake Merced Golf Club in Daly City, Calif. Open to girls under 18, is one of 13 national championships conducted annually by the USGA.
