LAWRENCEVILLE -- Deputies serving about 50 warrants as part of a Tuesday sweep in Gwinnett uncovered a marijuana grow house and another drug operation, seizing two weapons, an official said.
The grow house was located at 1357 Arlene Court in Lilburn, where deputies seized marijuana plants, grow lights, two pounds of marijuana and a .22 caliber handgun, said Gwinnett County Sheriff's Department Maj. Greg Thompson.
Charged with manufacturing of marijuana were Michale Nicholas and John Nicholas. Another resident of the home, Keyanna Gray, was charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.
In another incident, while attempting to serve warrants near Norcross, deputies noticed the strong odor of marijuana wafting from an apartment and obtained a search warrant.
Inside the 1520 Ashley Run Court residence, deputies seized marijuana, digital scales, plastic baggies and other distribution materials, in addition to a 9 mm TEC-DC9 handgun, said Thompson.
Lewis Gray, a tenant, was charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony and possession of a schedule II drug, Thompson said.
