LAWRENCEVILLE — Two drivers died early Monday morning in a head-on collision in Lawrenceville, police said.
The two-vehicle crash happened about 5 a.m. on Old Norcross Road at Hillandale Road, between Sugarloaf and Riverside parkways.
The victims were identified as Larry Liles, 54, of Lawrenceville, and a 55-year-old woman from Duluth named Mahvash Yazdanpanah, police said.
Lawrenceville police Capt. Greg Vaughn said Yazdanpanah was driving east in a Volvo sedan when she crossed the center median and struck a Hyundai driven by Liles head-on, killing both drivers at the scene.
No passengers were in either vehicle, and no other injuries were reported, Vaughn said.
An investigation by the Lawrenceville Police Department that includes a reconstruction of the crash continues.
