ATLANTA -- Tied 1-1 at halftime, the Silverbacks came out in the second half against an Islanders team that arrived in town very early Saturday morning. Despite missing leading goal-scorer Reinaldo Navia due to yellow card accumulation, the team showed the best offensive possession at home all season.

But one counterattack goal by Lawrenceville resident Nicholas Addlery negated all that work.

Addlery put his second goal of the night and fifth of the season home in the 70th minute on a fast break pass from David Foley, and Atlanta couldn't come up with another equalizer in a 2-1 loss Saturday.

"We had to try our best to capitalize on mistakes," Addlery said. "Being on the road, we've had four games in one week. We got in at 2:30 last night, so this game was a sheer hurt. ... It was my first game in Atlanta in a long while, so it was good to get a win."

Addlery scored his other goal in the 15th minute after Yaw Danso made a great run through the Silverbacks defense. Danso played a give-and-go with Hector Ramos and then scuffed a ball toward Addlery, who knocked it past goalkeeper Daniel Illyes for a 1-0 lead.

But the Silverbacks came back and tied the score at 1-1. Danilo Turcios got a ball in the box and passed it to Matt Horth on the right side. Horth took a low shot to the far post and into the side netting for his first goal of the season.

"The whole build-up was great," Horth said. "I think we strung together 15, 20 passes. We looked like Barcelona. Got the ball in to Dani, and that's his quality as a Honduran international. He placed it picture perfect for me, and it made my job really easy. I just cut it across the keeper and put it in the side netting."

Just prior to the Islanders' second goal, Central grad Borfor "Buff" Carr almost put Atlanta up. Carr ran into the box and took a hard shot on goal, but goalkeeper Cody Laurendi was able to knock it away.

"We gave it everything we had," Carr said. "We came out here, we had a game plan, we stuck to it. Puerto Rico came up with a late goal again to take it away. ... We've just got to keep working and keep looking for our win."
