SUWANEE -- Christ Church Suwanee is putting on an event for kids and families on June 30.
The church, which meets at Roberts Elementary, will have a "Summer Safari" from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the parking lot of the school. Children's director Lori Weyford said the church will have a fire truck, moonwalk and a lunch provided.
"We just want to meet the community, and give them a free lunch," Weyford said.
Weyford said several businesses have donated items such as signs and printed material for the event.
The event will also provide a "progressive story" and walk through a Noah's Ark.
"So the kids not just hear the story, but experience it," Weyford said. "We want to meet families who might be new to the area, and reach out to them."
